Composition:

Each gram contains: 200 mg erythromycin thiocyanate.

Spectrum of activity:

Erythromycin is a macrolide antibiotic with a primarily bacteriostatic action against a broad range of bacteria, especially Grampositive, as well as other organisms including Mycoplasmas, Spirochetes, Chlamydias, and Rickettsias. After  oral administration, absorption from the intestinal tract is good. Erythromycin is widely distributed throughout body tissues and fluids. Possible antagonistic effects may occur if erythromycin is given with bactericidal agents such as penicillins. Cephalosporins or gentamicin.

Indications:

Erythromycin is Particularly indicated in the treatment of mycoplasma and bacterial infections of the respiratory tract in poultry, particularly associated with Chronic Respiratory Disease (CRD) in poultry. Erythromycin is also indicated in the treatment of infectious sinovitis and sinusitis.

Contra-indications:

Hypersensitivity to erythromycin: hepatic disorders.

Side-effects:

Gastro-intestinal disturbance such as cramp, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.

Dosage and administration:

Orally via the drinking water.

Poultry: 100 gram per 100 litres drinking  water (30 mg/kg b.w.) for 4 – 5 consecutive days.

Storage:

Store in cool and dry place.

3 years.
